OUR HISTORY
Non-Profit Credit Counseling Agency since 1968
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Western Pennsylvania (CCCS of Western PA), now known as Advantage Credit Counseling Service, Inc. (Advantage CCS) is passionate about educating consumers regarding wise money management and the responsible use of credit. The agency educates and assists thousands of consumers every year with free credit counseling, debt consolidation, and various community education presentations. Through the help of CCCS of Western PA, thousands of consumer’s lives are bettered, which enhances their family’s stability and the community, as a whole, benefits.
The agency provides local and confidential budget counseling, debt consolidation and credit counseling and also provides Debt Management Programs which allows consumers to repay their principal credit card debt back to their creditors with an affordable monthly payment that may include reduced interest rates, waived late and over-limit fees and a peace of mind that your finances are under control.
The agency is also approved to provide Pre-Filing Bankruptcy Counseling and Pre-Discharge Bankruptcy Educations Classes in compliance with bankruptcy code and issue certificates in compliance with the bankruptcy code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of an agency’s services.
CCCS of Western PA has been deemed a certified housing counseling agency by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and is approved by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to conduct non-profit housing counseling under its Homeowner’s Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program.
The agency is a long time member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), the umbrella association for over 150 local non-profit CCCS agencies nationwide.
On April, 8th 2004 CCCS of Western PA was rebranded to the new name of Advantage Credit Counseling Service, Inc. (Advantage CCS). We are still the same reputable and trusted nonprofit credit counseling agency that was founded in 1968.

Founded in 1968, Advantage CCS is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with multiple office locations across the state. We are a non-profit credit counseling agency that is approved and licensed. We are proud members of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
